Antique Wood

Buildings made of reclaimed wood have a wonderful aura. The naturally weathered surfaces of the antique wood used for the exterior give the appearance of a chalet its special character.

Chalet Basler

Listed farmhouse

Chalet Basler was built in 1627. It is a listed farmhouse, which has been entirely rebuilt and renovated except for the upper front part and some individual walls. The verandas on the sides and the roof were newly constructed and clad with reclaimed wood. Thus, the appearance of the chalet has remained very close to the original.

The Raaflaub House 1560

Oldest farmhouse
in the Saanenland

The Raaflaub House is one of the oldest farmhouses in the Saanenland. It was built around 1560. During the renovation of this listed building, only the central part of the main façade and the old living rooms were left untouched. The roof, the veranda on each side and the rear part were completely rebuilt. The façades were all clad in reclaimed wood in order to preserve the original character of the house.

New Building

Traditional Saanehuus

This new build was entirely made in the traditional Saanen house style. For this purpose, original antique roof corbels were used. The antique wood for the façade, which is at least 200 years old, was neither brushed nor treated in any other way.
